Hello, my name is Karen Webb Green and I'm the founder of the Fit2Relax.London programmes. As a former gymnast and generally sporty child, I chose to start my working life as a gymnastics coach, where strength building, flexibility, injury prevention and recovery were important, as was teaching my gymnasts to be mentally prepared and focused.
Whilst continuing my work delivering children's sport and fitness, I diversified into teaching aerobics, at the same time formalising my training through college and university, gaining a degree in Sport and Recreation Studies (which included the study of physiology and psychology as well as health related fitness and further coaching skills in a range of sports).
After considering further study in health related fitness and sports medicine, I opted for a career in leisure management - retaining my passion for teaching working part time. During this time, I set up a patient referral scheme with a physiotherapy unit where I had been treated for knee injuries and also worked with the local NHS trust and other charities developing a Healthy Living Centre.
I've worked in a range of jobs - from a career in the fitness industry spanning over 30 years, to training and developing volunteers and managing museums as well as having personal experience of injuries and bouts of prolonged illness, (which left me feeling both physically and mentally exhausted and unable to cope with many everyday tasks). I have come full circle, now with a vast amount of knowledge and experience - returning to exercise and health as my full time focus and developing my Fit2Relax programmes to cater for those starting their health journey as well as those looking to develop.

Choosing to live a healthy life for me, is about taking control of your health and life to help achieve your dreams. Wellness is more than being free from illness: it is a process of change.
I began practising Yoga and Tai chi which helped me cope with a stressful job, but it was a sustained period of illness that helped me to truly ‘find’ yoga with its varied breathing techniques, and its value as an effective method of recovery – both physically and mentally. Pilates, with yoga, has helped to re-build my physical and mental strength and enabled me to keep pursuing my dreams... and climb those physical and mental mountains (or temples in my case!).
My focus throughout my career has always been on helping others to achieve their potential and encouraging them to pursue their dreams – be that through formal training, individual mentoring and coaching, or simply being someone to listen and bounce ideas off. My focus throughout my career has always been on helping others to achieve their potential and encouraging them to pursue their dreams – be that through formal training, individual mentoring and coaching, or simply being someone to listen and bounce ideas off. Whilst the mantra of 'no pain no gain' may still have its fans, it is not for me! – My mantra now is ‘there is always an alternative, even if this is just to rest and breathe’, or to take a different path. You need to learn to listen to your own body and recognise when it does need to rest physically and realise that ‘mental exercise’ can be a powerful force in your recovery and development.
I am now working in partnership with KR Fitness Education, to train others to follow their fitness and teaching dreams.

We don’t physically have to ‘go for the burn’, what our mind and body really need are the skills to make it stronger, more able to adapt and to cope better with life’s challenges – both physical and mental. As the saying goes, life is a journey, there are up’s and downs and the path may be winding or blocked at times, but a guide with good local knowledge can help, and also point us towards new discoveries along the way. Sometimes we just have to accept that we can’t always do it alone... so now let me help you - let me guide YOU in finding new ways to support YOUR body and mind, so that in time, you can be your own guide.
I run a number of outdoor sessions and events outdoors including health walks, family activities and Pilates in the Park standing and mat based sessions,
Some of these sessions are free for Newham and Beckton residents . Visit the Events page and booking site for up to date times and information or get in touch

Trigger Point Pilates classes have been developed by fitness expert Lydia Campbell following years of research and trials into trigger point and myofascial release, using foam rollers and balls to tackle chronic pain, back and neck pain and to help in rehabilitation from surgery. The mat based class is getting amazing results after just one session. If you've been told to 'live with the pain' or have been taking painkillers for years, try this class, it really can help make a difference. It is also great class to help prevent these conditions in the first place - by focusing on increasing your flexibility and core strength with the aid of resistance bands.
Louise came with limited mobility in her shoulder that she was told wouldn't get much better - 'We'll see.. I told her at her first session.
"I can’t recommend Fit2RelaxLondon enough! Karen really takes the time to get to know your individual needs and pitches the classes so that they are suitable for a range of abilities. I’d suffered from a frozen shoulder and had come to accept that I would have limited mobility. I started Trigger Point Pilates and 6 months later was amazed by the range of movement that I had. Karen instructed me twice weekly via Zoom during lockdown. The 1 to 1 classes combined mobility, strength building and relaxation. Karen has a real talent for knowing when to push you. Karen’s classes are thoroughly enjoyable -the fact you’ll walk out taller and feeling re-energized is an added bonus!"

Classes are small and intimate which means she can spend adequate time on her attendees ensuring each person is getting the most out of the session. Karen provides a variety of classes including inclusive Pilates which are mainly chair-based which is great for people who have disabilities. I progressed to joining the Trigger Point sessions and love my roller but can now do mobility, breathing and relaxation at home. I cannot recommend Karen’s classes highly enough."
The sessions are designed to increase mobility, flexibility and self confidence and then move on to strengthening exercises - all to help improve posture, balance and general wellbeing. Get in touch if you'd like to discuss a community based session or a session for an event.

I joined Karen's wellbeing and women's health session for a few weeks, in addition to having short weekly 1:1 sessions to fit around my schedule. The tension in my neck & back decreased but also taking time out to relax has improved my wellbeing. My first session on a roller - wow, the release and stretch I felt in my shoulders was amazing''. Sue - health practitioner.
I offer one to one sessions targeted both around rehabilitation and osteopathic conditions (such as hip mobility and hypermobility which can affect the shoulders). For more advanced levels of personal fitness I can help enable a return to sporting activity or if you are training for a specific event such as a 10k run.

Whilst I know rearranging work spaces and providing balls as seats isn't for everyone, I can help improve your work forces' posture and concentration, whilst giving them breathing techniques and relaxation exercises to help ease the stress of our busy lives.
Prior to Covid19 I was teaching regular corporate sessions at Canary Wharf and the Ark, Hammersmith and delivering one off workshops around wellness and relaxation. Check out the corporate page for more info on what I can offer.

I offer fun, yoga based activity sessions for all ages - from toddlers to teens and can develop sessions to suit a variety of age ranges and settings. I've delivered in schools, parks and to community groups. Family yoga works by developing both adult and child confidence and communication, to try new things together, to laugh, play and explore body and mind. Often those most wary at the beginning of the session, are those having the most fun at the end and who get the most from the session! I've had some amazing feedback as you can see, including 'Yoga makes me feel calm', 'its good for my mental health' and 'it was great to learn together' For older children, we can focus more on yoga poses and mental health awareness - learning to focus, relax and reenergise our mind as well as developing our physical strength, flexibility, balance and coordination.
There will be more information on my services and events every month
